Summer is here, and while that means the usual slew of summer blockbusters for fans to enjoy, there’s another important event lurking on the horizon: San Diego Comic-Con. The event has rapidly become one of the most important shows in terms of film and television news and Screen Rant will be on the scene covering all of the announcements, news and trailers.

Though the convention is still a little under a month away, the time is ripe for studios and networks to announce what they’re bringing San Diego. Fox has already announced its TV lineup, along with FX and Warner Bros., and the show is already beginning to seem a little crowded. That said, Starz is hoping to make a splash this year with panels dedicated to Outlander and Ash Vs. Evil Dead.

Check out the full schedule details below:

Outlander San Diego Comic-Con Panel – Saturday, July 11 – Ballroom 20

4:00-4:45 p.m. Outlander (returns 2016) featuring cast and creators including Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore, author Diana Gabaldon and actors Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan.

Outlander spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history and adventure as it follows Claire Randall, a married WWII combat nurse who mistakenly falls back in time to 1743. As the season continues, Claire and Jamie’s relationship is tested and Claire must reconcile her modern mindset with this 18th century world. Ruthless redcoats, volatile clan politics, and a brutal witch trial force Jamie and Claire to escape to a new home. Just when their life as a married couple begins to take shape, Jamie is once again drawn into Captain Randall’s darkness. Ultimately, Claire discovers there is a fate worse than death as she struggles to save Jamie’s heart, as well as his soul.

Ash vs Evil Dead San Diego Comic-Con Panel – Friday July 10 – Room 6A

6:00-7:00 p.m. Ash vs Evil Dead (first season premieres Fall 2015) featuring cast and creators including Executive Producers and original filmmakers Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Bruce Campbell, plus Lucy Lawless.

Ash vs Evil Dead, which is currently in production in New Zealand, is the long-awaited follow-up to the classic horror film franchise The Evil Dead and is set to premiere on Starz in Fall 2015. The 10-episode first season of the half-hour series is executive produced by Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell, the original filmmakers of the franchise, and Craig DiGregorio who will serve as executive producer and showrunner.

Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

It’s no surprise to see fan-favorite series Outlander making an appearance for Starz as they try to ramp up excitement for the upcoming second season. Potentially more interesting is the Evil Dead panel. There has yet to be any real footage revealed from the show; rather, we’ve seen a brief teaser featuring protagonist Ash’s trademark chainsaw. A panel at SDCC is the perfect place to reveal new production stills or a freshly cut trailer for the upcoming series.

While both panels promise to reveal tantalizing, behind-the-scenes information, there’s one upcoming Starz series disappointingly absent from lineup. I’m referring to the upcoming adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s American Gods. At this point, we know that the scripts for the first two episodes are written and that concept art exists.

Other than that, there have been few details thus far about the series, though producer Brian Fuller hinted new information might be available by Comic-Con. The absence of a dedicated panel doesn’t necessarily mean that there won’t be any reveals, but passing up on the event entirely may hint that the expected 2016 release date is optimistic.

San Diego Comic-Con International will take place from July 9th-July 12th.
