It is a generally agreed upon fact that Quicksilver’s brief time in X-Men: Days of Future Past was the highlight of the movie. He stole the film in a single scene and Hugh Jackman and Michael Fassbender couldn’t compete. So, how will Evan Peters, the man behind Quicksilver, top himself in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse? Peters says it’s going to happen.

In an interview with MTV Peters had this to say about the plans for the upcoming film:
This year we’re working on something that’s bigger and better, keeping the same elements that worked, then adding a few new ones. I’m really excited to see it all cut together, and I’m excited for people to see it, too. I think it’s going to be a really fun sequence in what is going to be a massive X-Men movie.

Massive is right. Apocalypse is going to have everybody in it. Most of the First Class crew is returning, that Wolverine guy will be back. We’re going to see several younger versions of the core X-Men team and that doesn’t even touch on all the that are being added. Although not everybody will be there apparently. As big as Quicksilver’s scene may be, it will be even harder for it to stand out with everything else that will be happening in the movie.

We’re very curious what "new elements" will be added to Quicksilver’s big moment. If they’re keeping the elements that worked then we’d expect to see another scene where the world moves in slow motion around Peters, probably with some music playing. What elements could be added that would put it over the top? Let us know if you have any ideas. If you need a refresher, check out the "time in a bottle" scene from the last film.

While Days of Future Past was a massive movie in its own right, the way things were divided up we never saw too much on screen at once. Peter’s finally had a chance to meet Jennifer Lawrence filming Apocalypse. Even though their scenes took place in the same time period, Quicksilver was such a brief character we never saw him on screen with her, or most of the rest of the cast for that matter.

We’re certainly looking forward to whatever Bryan Singer has planned for Quicksilver this time around, and for seeing more of him as well. We just wish we didn’t have to wait so long for it. X-Men: Apocalypse will hit theaters May 27, 2016.
