Description of the so-called "reconstruction" resources

Since its establishment, DIC has been fighting against falsehoods and misunderstandings, including but not limited to the following topics:

How to identify pirated CDs?

How to distinguish between true and false lossless?

How to distinguish true and false Hi-Res?

How to distinguish between lossy and lossless?

How to distinguish Hi-Res and non-Hi-Res?

Are digitized sound waves fitted with small sawtooth?

……

Now our users have encountered a new challenge - fake track grabs.

What is fake catch?

Fake rips have many different names, "rebuild", "refactor", or "re-rip", "rebuild" in English, etc. There are a lot of fancy names.

Of course, there are also called "re-grabs", but "re-grabs" may also refer to old discs and new ones, so they can't be killed with one stick.

How does the fake track work?

Fake trackers obtain resources from the Internet. This resource may be an old track capture from a long time ago, and many track capture parameters are incorrect; it may also be a WEB resource.

Convert this resource (possibly in various formats) into an image file that can be read by virtual CD-ROM software.

Use virtual CD-ROM software to mount the image so that it can be grabbed with EAC.

The crawling is successful, and it can be matched with AccurateRip, and published to the site.

It is reposted to other sites by people who do not know the truth, causing bad influence.

The above steps omit some technical details, only for your general understanding.

What's the problem with the fake track?

First of all, qualitatively, this is unquestionable fraud and should be condemned and resisted.

The real catch is directly from the genuine physical medium (the version approved by the record company or the artist), and there are very few exceptions.

This is also the source of the reference value of ARDB and CTDB, that is, every commit should come from a real disc.

But the fake track completely betrays that trust. Not only can it not contribute to the database, but it uses the database to "refactor" a resource and "clean up" a regrettable resource into a perfect track.

This behavior is completely putting the cart before the horse. Databases are "references" rather than "standards". There is only one real standard for capturing tracks, which is genuine physical media . If the disc in your hand is genuine and authentic, even if the database has no data or does not match other entries, there is no problem. Because it has its own legitimacy.

Fake ripping eliminates the meaning of self-purchasing and ripping, making it unnecessary to confirm the source and data (brand, catalog number, etc.) of the disc, and even some old resources have no relevant information at all, and they also fake a piece of nonsense. This seriously violates the well-deserved interests of the diligent self-catch publishers.

Our strategy

We have documented all such resources and they will be removed after this announcement. All the users who posted fake tracks are not to blame, we believe that there are well-intentioned publishers who have been kept in the dark.

However, any fake catch released after this announcement will be treated as " specially prohibited content ".
