You do realize x265 can be HD, right? An encode means exactly that. it's encoded. Whether or not the using H.264 or H.265 (aka HEVC) the resulting quality only depends on the encoding parameters. Not the encode used (unless ofc you're using something like xvid which constrains to SD content in avi) but anyways.
