Torrent > DDL imo. If network is unstable DDL may break, you have to restart from scratch. Torrent avoids that by chunking into pieces. At most you'll have to redo a piece which is typically ~2MB less loss of data, far more stable. Also you don't get server side throttled like you do from most DDL sites.

That said, the advantage of DDL is if they have the file, the whole thing will be served. Unlike torrents where you can lack seeds and be stuck at 99% indefinitely. Pros and cons. But generally if I can, torrenting is the way to go..

I prefer torrents. Usenet (or DDL) can be very helpful when getting older releases, but my first choice is to get a torrent.

my preffered method is one that avoid me from getting caught. i have 1gb symetric line at home and backup line using mobile network. i have build one of my old computers to be an nas and torrent etc computer and that computer use the backup line as gateway.

oh and the backupline is using prepaid datasims that i buy with real money, so if they want to track them to me they need to triangulate my signal basicly or watch security cameras on kiosk where i buy/charge my prepaid data, and even then they would have to try to recognize me from those sec cameras... never gona happen unless i do some real crimes like child porn. this way no need to vpn either which has my info on logs and can be shared with police way easier

oh. and in my country the dataprepaid is like 20€/month with unlimited data so its even cheaper than most decent vpn solutions
